I have been having a heck of a time getting my USB print servers to work my my parents HP multifunction printer. I finally went out and bought a Netgear PS121v2 because I thought it was the old Linksys Print Server. It was not it was the configuration of FIOS and my settings. Well I finally got it to work by doing the following. I didnt use the Resource CD, I setup a regular TCP/IP printer port for the printer, went to Custom when the network card type came up and set it as LPR with a Queue named PS121v2 per Netgears instructions. Now this was ONLY after going into the Verizon FIOS router, which the password is password1 usually done by the technician, username is usually admin. I had to pretty much let the traffic not be blocked by the router from the IP address that I set the Print Server to. It seems the Firewall settings on the FIOS router are like fort knox by default. Anyway all is working in the land of milk and honey now, but my suggestion is to not go with the default setup on the Netgear disk but rather the direct IP and LPR queue.
