So I am building a new computer and I buy a case that has USB ports on the front of the case and then I buy a floppy drive with flash card reader that also needs an internal USB header to function as well. Since the motherboard only has one internal usb header how can I get them both working? Well it has been suggested to buy a cheap USB pci Card that has an internal USB connection on it and put it in your case.

July 29th, 2009 No comments »At first my wife snored so loud that I thought I would end up sleeping on the couch my whole life, but then I thought I would go with ear plugs, the problem is they pushed wax down my ear and if they fell out in the middle of the night I would be woken up by her snoring. Then it was ear plugs and sleeping head to foot to just get that little further away. Anyway when I saw the Snoreclipse solution and I had an amazon gift certificate I figured why not.
The first step was making sure my…

July 26th, 2009 No comments »Well one of my children got black ball point pen all over my brown microfiber ottoman. I could not find a lot of information on the web, but I started with the Bissel Oxy Kic. Then after I did not see all of it gone, I went with rubbing alcohol, which seemed to work a bit. After I used a fan to dry it all though I could see the spots that I went over with the cleaner. So what I did then was do the whole top of the ottoman with a Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber (the new one)…

July 26th, 2009 No comments »So my back lawn has been great this year (minus the dog pee) but my front lawn has always been dried out and bare no matter what I do. I noticed these little bugs and now after some research it seems I have Leafhoppers. I guess Ill try Scotts Step 3 or something like that next year.

July 26th, 2009 No comments »Ok it is really a network bridge that allows you to hook equipment that has only an ethernet jack to your wireless network (Xbox 360, PS3, Printer, DVR). I am using it to hook up to a Xerox Multifunction device 4 floors away in my house. This thing is not easy to configure. I ended up going the way of changing my computer IP address to 1.1.1.2 and Gateway to 1.1.1.1 and then using the built in web browser to configure it. Took me about 20 minutes and then when I went to move it to its new location I…

July 26th, 2009 No comments »Well, I needed a gif animator to make an ad for someone on our other website as they gave me two images. I tried a few of them but finally settled on Beneton Movie GIF. Just watch for what else it is installing, but I found the program to be easy to use and actually had some simple transitions that were also easy to place. You can find the software at http://software.benetonfilms.com

July 26th, 2009 No comments »Well my GE Gas Dryer DBR453GA0WW or DBR453GAOWW, I never can get those 0 or O right, would tumble but it would not heat up to dry the clothes. I found the part number of the ignition switch because I figured the ignitor would be the problem. So now it is on to taking apart the dryer and finding out where the switch is to replace it. There really was not anything on the web to help so Ill give you my steps.
1. Unplug the dryer. Remove the four screws on top of the controls. I do not know if…
Why is my Sears Craftsman Lawnmower backfiring?
July 26th, 2009 No comments »Well, I bent the mulching blade and had to order a new one which I did. Then I put the new blade on and I am backfiring all over the place when I mow the lawn, and the power is not what it used to be. Seems I sheared the fly wheel key. Well not fully sheared which is why it was still running but the timing was off. Going to order a new one from http://www.hhlce.com/shop/Electrical_Parts/Flywheel_Keys.htm Be careful though the one that was OEM was either zinc or aluminum which was nice so I did not bend the crankshaft when…

July 26th, 2009 No comments »We plan on moving from New Jersey in Morris County to North Carolina somewhere in Wake county in the next few years. One of the things that has come up recently in Wake County is Radon levels, I do not know how comfortable I am with one of those things that vents the air outside of the house, I want something relatively radon free. So here it the map of North Carolina http://www.epa.gov/radon/zonemap/northcarolina.htm, well I know my friends have one of those suction vents for radon at their house in Pennsylvania by Allentown http://www.epa.gov/radon/zonemap/pennsylvania.htm and even though I was tested when…
